What is black coffee?

What is black coffee?

4th Nov 2022

Drinking your coffee “black”, or without anything added including milk or sugar, may take some getting used to especially if you have been drinking your coffee a certain way for a while. I used to drink coffee every day with a little sugar and coffee creamer. I did NOT enjoy my coffee any other way. Throughout the years we began buying whole bean and started looking for the roasted date on each bag. Once we started buying the fresh roast coffee (and often paying around $15 or more per bag) my husband said, “If I’m paying $15 for a bag of coffee, I want to actually TASTE the coffee!”. He began drinking his coffee black and after some convincing, so did I. And now I love it. We don’t like coffee that has anything added to it, if we do order a “fancy” coffee it is more for a dessert than a cup of coffee.

Now drinking my coffee plain, I can taste a difference in the different types of coffee. For example, our favorite coffee El Salvador has a wonderful brown sugar note, and our Kenya Peaberry has more of a fruity flavor. All our coffee is roasted to a medium-dark roast, making it less acidic, but not burnt!

If you are considering starting to drink your coffee black, just do it! Drink your coffee "black" for 3 days and see how you feel about it, I guarantee you your perspective will change (at least a little). If you make it to 3 days, try to reach 7 days. It will just get easier and the desire for that sugar filled drink will change drastically. Need some convincing to start? Black coffee has zero sugar, zero fat, its keto, has multiple benefits for your health including cardiovascular and memory improvement, and the list just goes on and on. So just do it, start your 3 days now.
