How To Make French Press

The French Press is a favorite brew type of many coffee lovers. Here is a simple step-by-step guide to making French Press
1.Weigh out your coffee. We use a 1:14 ratio.
2.Grind your coffee. Some prefer it a finer grind, we like our grind size slightly larger, around that of a pour over.
3.Heat your water to approximately 205F. While the water is heating put the ground coffee in your French press, place on scale, and zero out your scale.
4.Once the water is around 205F pour in the desired amount of water. Once poured start your timer.
5.Wait 4 minutes and then stir. The coffee grounds will drop to the bottom leaving a “foam” on top. Scoop off the foam with a spoon and discard.
6.Wait another 5 minutes. Pour your cup!
Pro tip: When placing the lid on the French press do NOT plunge the lid down as is often suggested. This will stir up the sediment in the bottom of the French press making for a “dirty” cup of coffee. Instead, place the lid on and push the plunger down until it is right above the water, then pour.
